Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled SAP ABAP Consultant with strong development and support experience to handle custom enhancements and provide L2/L3 AMS support. The ideal candidate should have deep expertise in ABAP programming, debugging, and performance optimization, along with the ability to collaborate with functional teams to deliver high-quality technical solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, enhance, and support custom ABAP programs, reports, and interfaces.
- Provide L2/L3 AMS support, including troubleshooting and resolving production issues.
- Work on enhancements and customizations using:
- BADI (Business Add-Ins)
- BAPI (Business Application Programming Interfaces)
- User Exits
- SmartForms / SAP Scripts
- Perform debugging and root cause analysis for technical issues.
- Collaborate with functional consultants (SD, MM, FI/CO, etc.) to understand and implement business requirements.
- Optimize program performance and ensure adherence to SAP best practices.
- Work on integrations and interfaces including IDOCs, RFCs, and web services.
- Support testing activities (unit testing, integration testing, UAT).
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 7+ years of hands-on experience in SAP ABAP development.
- Strong expertise in:
- ABAP programming (Reports, Module Pool, Enhancements)
- Debugging and performance tuning
- BADI, BAPI, User Exits, SmartForms
- Experience with interfaces and integrations (IDOCs, RFCs, APIs).
- Strong understanding of data dictionary and object-oriented ABAP.
- Experience in AMS support environments.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with S/4HANA ABAP (CDS Views, AMDP, OData services).
- Exposure to Fiori/UI5 is an added advantage.
- Familiarity with ITIL processes (Incident, Change, Problem Management).
