Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Storage & Backup Engineer to provide operational support for enterprise storage infrastructure. The role involves monitoring, troubleshooting, configuration, and maintenance of storage and backup systems while ensuring stability, security, and performance.

Key Responsibilities

Monitor storage and backup systems for performance and capacity

Respond to alerts and resolve incidents within defined SLAs

Perform routine health checks and maintenance on storage arrays & SAN environments

Handle backup and restore requests from business teams

Troubleshoot storage & backup issues such as SAN connectivity, disk failures, and performance bottlenecks

Escalate complex issues to Level 2 / Management when required

Assist in configuration of storage arrays, SAN switches, and backup systems

Follow approved change management processes

Apply security policies, access controls, and participate in vulnerability remediation

Maintain documentation, storage diagrams, and inventory records

Mandatory Skills

8+ years of experience in Storage & Backup Engineering

Strong hands-on experience with SAN, NAS, RAID, LUNs, Fibre Channel

Experience in Backup & Restore and Disaster Recovery

Exposure to enterprise storage vendors: Dell / NetApp / HPE / Huawei

Incident management and operational support experience

Good to Have

Backup tools: Veritas, Commvault, Veeam

Automation exposure: Python / Ansible

Storage certifications (Vendor-specific)

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field

Soft Skills

Strong communication and leadership abilities

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

Ability to work in a critical production environment
