Role Overview
The Salesforce Competency Head is a strategic and technical leadership role, responsible for owning the Salesforce capability end-to-end within the organization. This role combines technical authority with practice leadership to drive growth, delivery excellence, and talent development. You will lead a high-performing Center of Excellence (CoE) to ensure consistent governance, security, and architectural standards across all business units.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Define and manage the Salesforce CoE vision, strategy, and roadmap aligned with business objectives.
- Establish and enforce Salesforce development standards, best practices, and governance guidelines.
- Identify opportunities to leverage Salesforce platform capabilities to optimize business processes.
Practice & Team Leadership
- Build and scale the Salesforce practice by hiring, mentoring, and upskilling developers, architects, and consultants.
- Provide technical guidance and career development opportunities to practice members.
Pre-sales & Growth
- Support business development by designing solution offerings, participating in RFPs, and acting as a trusted advisor to CXO-level clients.
Delivery & Governance Excellence
- Oversee complex implementations, ensuring adherence to architecture standards, security protocols, and best practices.
- Promote reusability by maintaining a central repository of Salesforce assets (Apex triggers, reusable LWC components, standardized Flow patterns).
- Drive innovation through technical accelerators (e.g., automated migration scripts, CI/CD pipeline templates, industry-specific starter kits).
- Monitor adoption and performance of internal tools, ensuring they evolve with Salesforce releases.
Required Skills & Experience
- 18+ years in IT, with 10+ years in Salesforce implementation/architecture and 5+ years in leadership roles.
- Strong expertise in Salesforce architecture, security, and data governance.
- Deep knowledge of Apex, LWC, Flows, integration patterns (REST/SOAP), and DevOps tools (Copado, SFDX).
- Proven leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience managing complex Salesforce projects and delivering high-quality solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced Salesforce certifications (Platform Developer II, Application/System Architect, OmniStudio, Industry Cloud).
- Domain expertise in Salesforce Industry products (FSC, Health Cloud, Manufacturing Cloud).
- Experience in Agile delivery and managing distributed teams.
- Willingness to travel (up to 25%).
