Position Overview
The Salesforce Data Migration Lead / Manager is responsible for leading Asymbl's India-based data migration team, providing both hands-on technical leadership and delivery oversight for complex, enterprise-scale migrations into Salesforce.
This role requires recent, hands-on expertise in T-SQL and Microsoft SQL Server (2019 or later), with the ability to design and execute migrations involving large, relational, and transformation-heavy datasets. Candidates must be comfortable working directly in SQL and APIs, not solely through GUI-based ETL tools, and are encouraged to optimize quality and efficiency through innovative use of AI technology.
The role combines technical execution, team leadership, and client engagement, with accountability for migration quality, performance, and the establishment of repeatable, high-quality delivery practices.

Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop a team of Data Engineers and Migration Specialists, driving accountability, technical quality, and delivery performance
- Provide hands-on leadership in Salesforce data migration design and execution, including direct involvement in SQL development, transformation logic, and troubleshooting
- Define, implement, and enforce standardized migration processes across profiling, cleansing, deduplication, mapping, transformation, loading, validation, and reconciliation
- Design and review source-to-target mappings and relational data structures, ensuring proper handling of lookups, external IDs, and referential integrity
- Develop and optimize migration solutions using T-SQL and Microsoft SQL Server (2019+), including performance tuning for large-scale datasets
- Lead the use of DBAmp, Salesforce Inspector, Data Loader, DataLoader.io, SSIS, and API-based loading approaches for efficient data movement
- Build and oversee Python-based API integrations (REST/SOAP) for data extraction and loading
- Ensure accurate migration of binary data (Attachments, ContentVersion, files) across systems
- Establish and execute data validation and reconciliation frameworks, including statistical analysis and automated record-level comparison
- Troubleshoot and optimize migration performance, including batch processing strategies and Salesforce platform constraints
- Lead client-facing workshops, discussions, and delivery updates with strong communication and stakeholder alignment
- Drive practical adoption of AI/Digital Labor tools (e.g., Gemini, Claude, Slackbot) to enhance productivity and delivery efficiency
- Support hiring, onboarding, and continuous development of team members while reinforcing engineering standards and best practices
Qualifications:
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field
- 7–12 years of experience in data migration or data engineering
- Experience leading small to mid-sized technical teams in a delivery environment
Required Skills:
Salesforce & Migration Expertise
- Proven experience leading data migrations to the Salesforce platform
- Strong understanding of Salesforce data architecture, including objects, relationships, and platform constraints
- Hands-on experience with Salesforce data tools and frameworks including Data Loader, DataLoader.io, Salesforce Inspector, DBAmp, and Bulk API (REST/SOAP)
Database & Development Skills
- Strong, recent hands-on expertise in T-SQL and Microsoft SQL Server (2019 or later)
- Experience developing, optimizing, and troubleshooting complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and transformation logic
- Experience developing Python scripts for API-based data extraction and loading
Data Migration & Quality
- Strong experience in data profiling, cleansing, deduplication, normalization, and transformation
- Experience designing and executing data validation and reconciliation frameworks, including statistical and automated comparison techniques
- Experience migrating binary data/files (Attachments, ContentVersion)
Tools & Technology
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services)
- Experience working with APIs (REST/SOAP) and integration tools (e.g., Postman or similar)
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git)
Leadership & Communication
- Experience leading migration teams and enforcing structured delivery standards and processes
- Strong communication skills with demonstrated client-facing experience
- Ability to drive accountability, quality, and continuous improvement across the team
Additional Desired Skills / Experience
- Experience with Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services (IICS) / IDMC
- Experience migrating from Informatica PowerCenter to IICS/IDMC
- Certifications in Informatica IICS/IDMC
