Job Description

Job Title: Sales Specialist - Combat Vehicles - Defence

Job Purpose:

The role involves driving business growth in the Defence sector by engaging with key stakeholders, managing procurement processes, and supporting end-to-end bid management. The candidate will play a critical role in identifying opportunities, participating in trials, and delivering tailored solutions aligned with customer requirements

Education Qualification: BE/B.Tech (Mechanical/Automobile)

Experience: 3-7 years

Job Responsibilities:

  • Administrative / Co-Ordination - Develop a strong understanding of Defence procurement procedures, policies, and manuals. Stay updated on procurement guidelines, compliance requirements, and evolving Defence policies. Ensure all business activities and submissions align with regulatory frameworks. Prepare and coordinate high-quality responses to RFIs (Request for Information) and RFPs (Request for Proposal). Collaborate with internal technical, commercial, and legal teams to compile comprehensive proposals. Ensure timely submission of accurate and competitive bids. Actively participate in Army trials for combat programs (vehicles and sub-systems). Support product demonstrations and validation activities at trial locations. Coordinate with internal teams to ensure smooth execution during long-duration trials. Gather feedback and insights to improve product performance and positioning.
  • People Related - Establish and maintain relationships with Defence stakeholders across multiple levels: - Unit Level - Command Level - Headquarters (HQ) - Ministry of Defence (MoD) - DGQA (Directorate General of Quality Assurance) - PCDA (Principal Controller of Defence Accounts) - Understand customer requirements and translate them into viable technical and commercial solutions. - Conduct presentations, discussions, and negotiations with key decision-makers.
  • Strategic - Conduct market analysis, including competitor benchmarking and opportunity mapping. Identify emerging trends, customer needs, and new business opportunities in the Defence sector. Prepare impactful PowerPoint presentations for internal reviews and customer engagements. Support strategic planning and business expansion initiatives.

Skills:

FUNCTIONAL - Strong understanding of Defence ecosystem and procurement lifecycle

Proficiency in MS Office tools, especially PowerPoint

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Willingness to travel extensively and work in field/trial conditions

SOFT SKILLS / BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to manage complex stakeholder environments
