What would you do What are the key objectives and expectations from this role Data Management Assistant Manager ensures the following actions: Manage a wide range of Global Data Management processes and lead Data Management teams within the GBS organization. Ensure high-quality Financial Master Data (related to external vendors, external customers, price master) across SAP and TMD systems. Support data integrity and process standardization within SAP by actively participating in relevant projects. Maintain master data in a controlled and compliant manner, adhering to the internal standards (SOx and Non SOx controls). Provide support to other GBS users in SAP and Master Data matters to ensure consistent and reliable data across the organization. What is the direct impact of this role on the team or organization As Data Management Assistant Manager, the role has a direct impact on the team and organization by: Ensures data accuracy and consistency in the company codes across US Reynolds and Americas entities. Ensures reliable operations by maintaining a clean, accurate, and up-to-date systems environment. Directly contributes to operational efficiency by supporting internal stakeholders and ensuring smooth systems usage across BAT entities. Strengthens compliance and governance through proper master data handling aligned with global standards. Improves project outcomes by ensuring robust data foundations for all initiatives relying on our systems.
What are we looking for ESSENTIAL Education / Experience Required University Degree (finance studies is considered a plus). At least 2 years of experience working within Data Management, Global Business services or any other relevant field In-depth knowledge of performance metrics. Shared service center experience. Technical / Functional / Leadership Skills Required Good command of English, spoken and written (B2+/C1), portuguese is a plus. Knowledge of Microsoft Office standard pack (Excel, Word, Access, Power Point). Excellent analytical and numerical skills, positive, detail oriented and well organised. Prioritizes own work / understands escalation trigger points. Strong leadership, organizational and negotiation skills; to be able to inspire and motivate their team to achieve their goals. Good understanding of Data Management and the control environment within GBS & across the business; Great interpersonal and communication skills; Critical thinker and problem-solving skills; Strong change management skills and be able to lead their team through organizational changes related to master data management. Work Relations The holder of this position will have to liaise and develop close and efficient collaboration relations with the following entities: Solution Centre (TCS). Members of the Data Quality Focus Group. Global Data Managers. GBS Senior Stakeholders and Pears. Project teams for systems implementation. Project team for the development of Global Process Standards. The General Manager of GBS. Representatives of BAT companies clients of GBS. Internal Audit Teams. IT Consultants providing services to BAT. Management Consultants and Project Managers. External Audit Teams.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Managing the day-to-day activities of the team, mentoring and motivating the team to achieve organizational goals. Generates and shares comprehensive and detailed reports about team performance, mission-related objectives, and deadlines. Ensures the data is accurate, reliable and updated by implementing quality control procedures, reviewing data for errors and inconsistencies, and overseeing data cleansing and enrichment activities. Provides quality customer service, including interacting with customers, answering customer enquiries, and effectively handling customer complaints. Maintaining robust data management/hygiene policies, procedures and processes, and a robust control environment. Ensure service levels and targets are consistent with quality and timeliness, and that service is delivered in accordance with agreed TAT. Ensuring that Data Management processes are in accordance with the internal and external audit requirements. Maintaining close connections with specialists in the financial field within BAT (Business SMEs), with project teams and with all people involved or impacted by the Data Management processes across BAT. Ensuring a controlled environment in which all reports are accurately and timely rolled out, in line with all global standards. Drive team performance and promote continuous improvement in master data management to ensure the accuracy and reliability of data. Efficiently communicating with the internal and external Audit teams. Considering that the previous paragraphs only provided the main responsibilities related to this role, the holder of this position shall also have the duty to fulfil any other task related to the role, as assigned by superiors.
