Job Description: Sales Manager (West Region)
Location: Gujarat (Based at Ahmedabad)
Industry: Pharmaceutical Engineering / Tooling (Tableting)
Product Focus: Die and Punch Toolings, Multi-tip Tooling, Core Rods, and Tablet Press Accessories.
Role Overview
As the Sales Manager for Pharma Toolings, you will be responsible for driving revenue growth and managing key accounts within the Gujarat pharmaceutical hub. You will serve as the technical bridge between our engineering team and the production/QA departments of major pharmaceutical manufacturers. Your goal is to provide high-precision tooling solutions that minimize tablet defects and maximize production efficiency for our clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Business Development: Identify and penetrate new pharmaceutical manufacturing units and Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMOs) across Gujarat.
- Key Account Management: Maintain and grow relationships with existing Tier-1 and Tier-2 pharma companies, ensuring high retention and repeat orders.
- Technical Consultation: Assist clients in selecting the right steel grades (e.g., OHNS, D3, HCHCR) and specialized coatings (Chrome, TiN, Teflon) based on their specific formulation challenges (sticking, picking, or abrasion).
- Sales Lifecycle Management: From initial lead generation and technical presentation to negotiation, closing, and post-sales support.
- Market Intelligence: Monitor competitor pricing, product launches, and technological shifts in tablet compression technology.
- Collection & Forecasting: Ensure timely payment collections and provide monthly sales forecasts to the production team to manage lead times.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Pharmacy (B.Pharm), or a related technical field. An MBA in Marketing is a plus.
- Experience: 5–8 years of proven sales experience specifically in Pharma Tooling (Punches & Dies) or Tableting Machinery.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of:
- Tooling Standards: (D, B, BB, BBS types).
- Tablet Compression: Understanding the physics of compression and common defects like capping or lamination.
- Metallurgy: Knowledge of tool steel and heat treatment processes.
- Language: Proficiency in English, Hindi, and Gujarati is essential for effective local communication.
- Travel: Willingness to travel extensively (50% of the time) across industrial zones like Vapi, Ankleshwar, Bharuch, and Ahmedabad.
