The Role

We are looking for a results-driven Sales Manager who can combine strong application engineering knowledge with a sharp commercial instinct to grow our order book for turnkey powder handling systems. This is a hunter role — you will own the full sales cycle from prospecting to order closure, and you will be the technical face of Scorpio in front of customers.

Key Responsibilities

Drive sales order bookings for turnkey pneumatic conveying systems (dense phase, dilute phase) and associated powder handling equipment across target industries.

Engage customers early in the project lifecycle to understand process requirements and position Scorpio's solutions effectively.

Perform application engineering assessments — understand bulk material properties, conveying distances, throughput requirements, and recommend suitable system configurations in collaboration with the internal engineering team.

Prepare and present techno-commercial proposals, manage negotiations, and close orders independently.

Build and manage a pipeline of qualified opportunities using a structured sales process; provide accurate order booking forecasts to management.

Develop and leverage an existing customer and consultant network across industries such as chemicals, cement & flyash, glass & ceramics, food, paints & pigments, and petrochemicals etc.

Identify and pursue new accounts, greenfield projects, and repeat business opportunities.

Coordinate with engineering, projects, and procurement teams during order handover to ensure smooth project execution.

Represent Scorpio at industry events, trade shows, and customer plant visits.

Maintain timely CRM updates and sales reporting.

What We're Looking For

B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering (mandatory).

5–7 years of experience in project or capital equipment sales, preferably in pneumatic conveying, powder handling, bulk material handling, or related process plant equipment.

Demonstrated ability to independently close capital equipment orders in the 50L–5Cr+ range.

Application engineering capability — able to read P&IDs, understand process parameters, and translate customer requirements into a credible technical solution.

An established network of contacts in industries that handle powders and bulk solids (procurement, projects, and engineering decision-makers).

Strong negotiation, presentation, and communication skills.

Self-starter with the drive to work with defined targets and minimal supervision.

Willingness to travel extensively across India and Asia Pacific/Middle East for customer meetings and site visits.

Preferred Experience

Prior exposure to dense phase or dilute phase pneumatic conveying systems is a significant advantage.

Familiarity with turnkey project tendering and EPC contract analysis and management

Experience dealing with industries such as cement, glass, chemicals, food & pharma, paints, minerals, soaps&detergents etc
