ROLE OVERVIEW:

The Sales Manager will be responsible for acquiring retail clients interested in opening Equity Trading and Demat accounts. The candidate will act as the first point of contact in the client lifecycle, facilitating account opening and ensuring a smooth transition to the equity dealing team. Additionally, the role involves cross-selling third-party products (TPP) such as Mutual Funds, PMS, Bonds, Insurance, and other investment instruments.

RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS

·       Source and acquire retail clients for Equity Trading and Demat account openings

·       Ensure a smooth handover of newly acquired clients to the Equity Dealer for market advice and trade execution

·       Monitor client engagement and coordinate with dealers to maximize trade volumes

·       Identify client needs and promote relevant financial products such as:

Mutual Funds/ Portfolio Management Services (PMS)/Fixed Deposits (FDs)/Insurance (Life/General)/Bonds & Private Equity products

·       Achieve individual targets for account openings, TPP sales, and activation metrics

COMPETENCIES:

EXPERIENCE

·       2–4 years in financial services, preferably in retail broking, wealth management, or investment advisory roles.

·       Prior experience in client acquisition, equity market sales, or cross-selling investment products is highly desirable.

KNOWLEDGE

·       Postgraduate/ bachelor's degree in Finance, Commerce, Economics, or related field (e.g., MBA,B.Com, BBA, BA)

·       Strong understanding of equity markets, Demat & trading operations, and market instruments (stocks, derivatives, IPOs)

·       Familiarity with Mutual Funds, Fixed Deposits, Portfolio Management Services (PMS), Life/General Insurance, Bonds, and Alternative Investment Products.

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

·       Strong drive to meet and exceed sales targets and KPIs (e.g., account openings, TPP sales).

·       Takes initiative to approach new clients, follow up, and close deals independently.

·       Prioritizes understanding client needs and providing appropriate financial solutions
