About the company:

Our client is a globally established manufacturer of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients, with production sites in Europe and South Africa and a strong presence in regulated pharmaceutical markets.

We are looking for an experienced API Sales / Business Development professional to drive new business in the US API market, with a focus on the Mid to West Coast region.

This role is ideal for someone with proven experience in API export sales, international pharma business development, US market development, RFQs, commercial negotiations, and customer acquisition.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop new B2B customers and strategic partners in the US API market.
  • Focus on customer acquisition across the Mid to West Coast region.
  • Promote the company's API portfolio to generic pharma and formulation companies.
  • Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation to RFQs, proposals, negotiations, and contract closure.
  • Build long-term relationships with international customers.
  • Coordinate with sales, regulatory, quality, legal, and technical teams.
  • Support sustainable revenue growth through targeted market development.

Required Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in API sales, export sales, or international pharma business development.
  • Strong exposure to the US pharmaceutical market.
  • Experience with the Mid to West Coast US market is preferred.
  • Good understanding of generic APIs, regulated markets, ANDA/NDA pathways, import requirements, and customer approval processes.
  • Proven track record in achieving sales targets and acquiring new customers.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Pharmacy, Chemistry, Biology, Life Sciences, or a related field.
  • Comfortable working with international customers across US time zones.

Compensation

Up to INR 20 LPA fixed + performance-based bonus, depending on experience.
