Job Description

Job Summary

The Sales Leader is responsible for leading and coordinating the sales team to achieve company sales targets, develop new business opportunities, maintain strong customer relationships, and ensure effective follow-up of quotations, orders, projects and outstanding matters.

The position is both a leadership and hands-on sales role. The Sales Leader is expected to manage and guide the sales team while actively developing customers and supporting key accounts and projects.

Responsibilities

1. Sales & Business Development
Achieve individual and team sales targets set by management.
Develop new customers, markets and business opportunities.Maintain and grow relationships with existing customers and key accounts.Conduct customer visits, meetings and presentations.Identify customer requirements and recommend suitable products or solutions.Follow up on enquiries, quotations, samples, projects and potential orders.Monitor competitors, market developments and customer requirements.Support expansion into new industries and overseas markets where required.


2. Sales Team Leadership
Lead, supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the sales team.Allocate customers, enquiries, leads and sales opportunities appropriately.Set clear sales priorities and follow-up requirements for team members.Monitor individual sales performance, customer visits and project progress.Coach and guide sales staff on customer handling, negotiation and closing.Assist team members in resolving difficult customer or commercial issues.Ensure proper teamwork, communication and information sharing within the department.Report poor performance, repeated follow-up failures or disciplinary issues to management.


3. Customer & Sales Follow-Up
Ensure all customer enquiries and quotations are followed up promptly.Ensure sales staff maintain regular follow-up with potential customers and ongoing projects.Review important quotations before submission when necessary.Follow up on customer purchase orders and order confirmations.Coordinate with Accounts on overdue payments and assist with collection where necessary.Handle customer complaints professionally and coordinate internally for corrective action.


4. Order & Internal Coordination
Coordinate closely with Procurement, Production, Warehouse, Logistics and Accounts to ensure customer requirements are fulfilled.Ensure customer PO, ORD, specifications, drawings and other required documents are complete and accurate.Communicate urgent orders, delivery requirements and special customer requirements clearly to the relevant departments.Follow up internally on order status and highlight potential delays before they affect customers.Ensure Sales does not commit to unreasonable pricing, lead time or delivery requirements without internal confirmation.


5. Pricing & Commercial Control
Review selling prices, margins and commercial terms where required.Negotiate pricing and commercial terms within the authority given by management.Seek management approval for special pricing, discounts or commercial arrangements outside the approved authority.Maintain awareness of product costs and ensure reasonable profitability.Support Accounts and management with information required for profitability or project review.


6. Sales Reporting & Management
Prepare and submit weekly/monthly sales reports.Conduct regular sales meetings and review team performance.Maintain updated records of customer visits, quotations, opportunities and project status.Provide management with sales forecasts and updates on major projects.Highlight lost orders and analyse reasons such as pricing, lead time, specification or competition.Ensure sales activities and customer information are properly recorded in the company's CRM/system.


7. Key Projects & Exhibitions
Take responsibility for assigned major customers and projects.Support and participate in exhibitions, customer events and overseas business trips.Follow up on exhibition leads and convert potential leads into business opportunities.Coordinate with management on strategic projects and new market development.

Required competencies and certifications

  • GCE O Level or equivalent qualification
  • 1-2 years of relevant working experience

  • Strong communication skills to convey information clearly and engage customers
  • Detail-oriented approach to ensure accuracy in order processing and customer data
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks and processes
  • Good speaking skills to interact confidently with clients and colleagues

Other Information

Working Hours:

  • Monday to Friday, 08:30 to 17:30
  • Saturday, 08:30 to 13:00
