Job Description

Head of Sales scanO
Location: Pune, India (+ frequent on-ground travel required)
Reports to: CEO & Board

Why this role exists
scanO is building the future of preventive oral healthcare using AI. We're not selling software or devices we're changing how people discover dental problems before pain, cost, and fear kick in.
To do that at scale, we need a Sales Head who can build belief before building pipelines, who understands Indian dentists deeply, and who can turn early momentum into a repeatable, high-performance revenue engine.
This role is for someone who wants to build, not inherit.

What you'll actually do (beyond sales)
1. Own revenue like a founder
Take full ownership of revenue, growth targets, and conversion quality across all products (scanO air, platform, partnerships).
Build quarterly and annual sales plans aligned with scanO's ARR goals.
Be accountable not just for numbers, but how those numbers are achieved.

2. Build the sales engine from scratch
Design and refine sales play books for different dentist personas: solo clinics, chains, institutions, CSR partners, enterprises.
Create predictable funnels: leads demos pilots closures renewals.
Work closely with marketing, product, and ops to close loop gaps.

3. Drive aggressive outbound sales and demand generation
Plan and execute on-ground roadshows across key cities and tier-2/3 markets to create visibility and generate leads.
Organize and lead webinars, workshops, and demo sessions for dentists both online and offline.
Manage relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) in dentistry leverage them for credibility, referrals, and market access.
Build presence at dental conferences, trade shows, and association events turn every touchpoint into a pipeline opportunity.
Create outbound campaigns targeting high-intent dentist segments with personalized outreach.
Work with marketing to build co-branded events, testimonials, and case studies that fuel sales momentum.

4. Lead from the front (not from spreadsheets)
Personally handle strategic deals: large clinics, chains, and key partnerships.
Do on-ground demos, roadshows, conferences, and high-stakes conversations.
Set the benchmark for how scanO is sold tone, honesty, conviction.

5. Build and scale a high-trust sales team
Hire, train, and mentor a team of high-integrity sales performers.
Set clear expectations, daily rhythms, review structures, and accountability.
Build a culture where learning, ownership, and ethics matter as much as targets.

6. Be the voice of the dentist internally
Bring sharp insights from the field back to product, tech, and leadership.
Help shape pricing, packaging, and GTM strategy based on real usage and feedback.
Act as a bridge between what dentists say and what they actually need.

Who this role is for
You're likely a great fit if you:
Have 58 years of experience in B2B / healthcare / medical devices / SaaS / dental or pharma sales
Have built or scaled sales teams, not just managed mature ones
Understand Indian healthcare decision-making logic + emotion + trust
Are comfortable selling high-value, impact-driven solutions, not discounts
Can switch between strategy discussions and field execution seamlessly
Have experience planning and executing roadshows, events, and KOL-driven GTM strategies

Bonus points if you:
Have sold to dentists, hospitals, clinics, or healthcare chains
Have worked in a startup or scale-up environment
Are excited by AI + healthcare + access + impact
Have managed KOL networks or built demand through advocacy and education

Requirements

58 years of experience in B2B / healthcare / medical devices / SaaS / dental or pharma sales

Proven experience building or scaling sales teams

Strong revenue ownership and GTM execution capability

Hands-on outbound sales, roadshows, events, and KOL management experience

Ability to close high-value, consultative deals

Deep understanding of Indian healthcare sales dynamics

Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills

Comfortable with travel, ambiguity, and fast-paced startup environments
