Role Overview
We are seeking a high-energy, execution-focused Sales Head – Odisha to launch and scale our residential and retail solar footprint across the state. Based in Bhubaneswar, you will own the regional market expansion—building a high-velocity direct sales machine and establishing a robust network of local channel partners, dealers, and influencers to bring our rooftop solutions directly to property owners.
While you will occasionally leverage high-value networks and inbound referrals for larger corporate projects, your primary mission is scaling volume through a disciplined field sales force and retail channels. Prior solar knowledge is not required—we will provide full technical and product training. We need a retail-savvy leader who knows how to manage ground operations and scale a direct-to-consumer footprint in Odisha.
Key Responsibilities
- Field Sales Leadership: Recruit, train, and manage a high-performing team of direct field sales executives. Implement strict daily operating metrics (property visits, site assessments, closures) and drive a highly motivated, high-velocity sales culture.
- Channel & Partner Development: Build and nurture a robust ecosystem of local channel partners, retail dealers, and key industry influencers (such as electrical contractors, architects, and local builders) to generate a steady stream of retail leads.
- Key Account & Referral Management: Act as the senior face of the company in the region to manage and close inbound referrals, institutional leads, and network-driven commercial connections.
- Data & CRM Discipline: Enforce absolute data discipline across the field team. Ensure every lead, site visit, and follow-up is accurately logged into our sales tracking software to optimize conversion funnels and maximize team efficiency.
- Local Market Activation: Partner with the central marketing team to design and execute hyper-local lead-generation campaigns, community activations, and ground-level promotional setups in high-potential residential clusters and towns across Odisha.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: 8 to 12+ years of hardcore sales experience, with at least 3+ years managing a distributed, high-volume retail or direct-to-consumer field sales team.
- Preferred Industry Background: Building Materials, Retail Power Inverters/Batteries, Automotive, Real Estate, Consumer Durables or Insurance/Direct Financial Services.
- Sales Mechanics: Proven track record of managing high-volume transaction cycles, short sales funnels, and large teams of ground-level executives.
- Geographical Footprint: Deep familiarity with the Odisha market topology (Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Puri, Ganjam, Sambalpur, etc.) and a strong understanding of local consumer behavior.
- Leadership Style: A gritty, ground-level leader who leads by example, spends significant time in the field coaching team members, and knows how to keep a direct sales team consistently motivated.
- Language: Native fluency in Odia is highly preferred, alongside English or Hindi.
