Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role based in Mumbai for a Sales Head in freight forwarding. The Sales Head will lead and grow freight forwarding sales across ocean, air, and multi-modal services, developing and executing strategies to drive revenue and market share. Daily responsibilities include identifying new business opportunities, building and maintaining key client relationships, managing account portfolios, and negotiating contracts and commercial terms. The role involves leading and mentoring the sales team, setting performance targets, monitoring sales pipelines, and coordinating with operations, pricing, and finance teams to ensure service quality and profitability. The Sales Head will analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer requirements, preparing regular performance reports and recommending strategic initiatives to senior leadership.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Sales and Sales Management skills, with proven experience in freight forwarding or logistics.
- Candidates should possess solid Account Management skills, including client relationship building, retention, and upselling.
- Candidates should possess effective Team Management skills, with experience in leading, coaching, and developing sales teams.
- Candidates should possess strong Analytical Skills to interpret market data, pricing, and performance metrics for informed decision-making.
- Extensive knowledge of international freight forwarding, shipping, and logistics processes and documentation.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to engage with senior stakeholders and key accounts.
- Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and driving business growth.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; an advanced degree or relevant certifications in logistics or international trade is an advantage.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced environment and collaborating cross-functionally with operations, finance, and customer service teams.
