Job Description

1. Job Purpose

The Sales Executive – NVOCC will be responsible for developing new business, generating container bookings, achieving sales and revenue targets, and maintaining strong relationships with freight forwarders, CHAs, shippers, consignees and logistics partners.

The role requires hands-on experience in NVOCC/container shipping sales, knowledge of trade lanes and freight structures, and the ability to convert business opportunities into profitable bookings.

2. Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Development & Sales
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities in export/import container trade.
  • Promote the company's NVOCC services to prospective customers and business partners.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with freight forwarders, CHAs, shippers, consignees and logistics companies.
  • Achieve monthly and quarterly booking volume and revenue targets.
  • Generate leads through market visits, references, networking and industry contacts.
  • Follow up on leads, quotations and proposals and convert opportunities into confirmed bookings.
Customer Relationship Management
  • Maintain strong relationships with existing customers and generate repeat business.
  • Understand customer requirements and provide appropriate NVOCC solutions.
  • Address customer queries and coordinate internally for timely resolution.
  • Monitor customer satisfaction and identify opportunities for increasing business volumes.
Freight Quotations & Commercial Activities
  • Prepare and present competitive freight quotations and service proposals.
  • Understand freight structures, trade lanes, carrier services and market rates.
  • Negotiate rates and commercial terms within approved company guidelines.
  • Track market rates and competitor activities and provide relevant inputs to management.
Coordination & Shipment Execution
  • Coordinate with Operations, Documentation and Pricing teams to ensure smooth execution of shipments.
  • Ensure confirmed bookings are properly communicated to the concerned internal teams.
  • Follow up on shipment-related requirements to support timely service delivery.
  • Coordinate with the Accounts team for timely collection of outstanding payments.
Market Development
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, customer requirements and freight rate movements.
  • Develop business opportunities within assigned territories/trade lanes.
  • Represent the company at client meetings, trade events and industry gatherings as required.
3. Candidate ProfileQualification
  • Graduate / Postgraduate in Business, Shipping, Logistics, Commerce or a related discipline.
Experience
  • 2–3 years of relevant experience in NVOCC or container shipping sales – Mandatory.
  • Candidates with proven experience in freight forwarding/container shipping sales will be considered based on relevant exposure.
