Role Objective:
The Territory Sales Representative Modern Trade is responsible for driving primary and secondary sales within the assigned territory by managing modern trade retail outlets. The role focuses on ensuring product availability, visibility, merchandising excellence, and flawless execution of sales and promotional strategies across key modern trade accounts to achieve assigned sales targets and strengthen the brand presence of Style & Shine Essentials.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Execution & Growth
- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for the assigned modern trade territory.
- Drive secondary sales through effective in-store execution and stock movement.
- Increase sales per store by improving assortment, shelf visibility, and promotional execution.
- Support expansion by adding new modern trade outlets and securing additional product listings.
Retail Execution & Merchandising
- Ensure daily market visits and full coverage of assigned modern trade accounts.
- Ensure adequate product availability, correct shelf placement, proper facing, and adherence to planograms.
- Execute in-store promotions, schemes, and product launches as per company guidelines.
- Ensure all POSM and marketing materials are correctly installed, visible, and well-maintained.
Supply & Operations Coordination
- Coordinate with internal supply chain, logistics, and merchandising teams to ensure timely replenishment and smooth operations.
- Monitor store-level stock levels and ensure proper stock rotation (FIFO) to avoid expiry or damages.
- Proactively flag supply or execution gaps and ensure timely resolution.
Market Intelligence & Reporting
- Track and report pricing, competitor activity, promotions, and shelf share in modern trade outlets.
- Gather retailer and shopper feedback on product performance and share actionable insights.
- Submit daily, weekly, and monthly sales and market execution reports accurately and on time.
Account & Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with store managers, department heads, and modern trade staff.
- Act as the primary point of contact for execution-related matters at the store level.
- Resolve operational or execution-related issues promptly to maintain high service standards.
Compliance & Discipline
- Ensure strict adherence to company sales processes, reporting formats, attendance discipline, and ethical standards.
- Maintain professional conduct while representing the brand at all retail touchpoints.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
- Sound understanding of modern trade retail operations and merchandising
- Ability to build and sustain long-term relationships with modern trade partners
- Good numerical ability and reporting discipline

- Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory
Qualification & Experience:
- Minimum Qualification: 12th Pass
- Graduate preferred, MBA is a plus.
- Experience: 25 years of experience in FMCG Personal Care/Consumer Goods/Pharma
- Prior Modern Trade sales experience will be a strong advantage
