THE ROLE
The Sales Executive (In-Store) & Community Lead supports the store team by ensuring a strong in-store customer experience while also building and nurturing relationships within the surrounding community. The role focuses on assisting with store operations, supporting retail and gifting sales, and acting as a key point of contact for customers visiting the store.
As part of the broader sales ecosystem, the role supports both retail sales and gifting opportunities that originate in-store. While the position primarily supports day-to-day store operations and customer interactions, it also assists with identifying and managing bulk orders / larger gifting opportunities, which are coordinated with the Sales Manager Inbound where required.
A key part of the role is ensuring that the store reflects Bombay Sweet Shop's gifting proposition clearly, through well-maintained displays, knowledgeable customer interactions, and strong local engagement. The role also contributes to building relationships within the surrounding neighborhood and supporting community initiatives and events that take place in the store.
The position also requires strong brand storytelling, where the team member remains informed about updates, launches, and initiatives across the Hunger Inc. universe in order to create engaging conversations with customers and represent the brand effectively.
Bombay Sweet Shop is part of Hunger Inc. Hospitality, which also includes The Bombay Canteen, O Pedro, Veronica's, Papa's.

YOUR TEAM
You will be part of the store team, working closely with the Cafe Manager and store operations team to ensure a seamless in-store experience for customers.
The role will also coordinate with the Sales team for inbound gifting inquiries, particularly where larger orders or corporate opportunities arise, and with the Community Manager for store-led activations and neighborhood engagement initiatives.
WHO YOU WILL REPORT TO
You will report directly to the Cafe Manager for day-to-day store operations.
For bulk orders or larger inquiries, you will coordinate with the Sales Manager Inbound.
YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
Retail Sales & Store Operations
Assist customers with retail purchases and gifting inquiries in-store
Provide guidance on product selection, gifting options, and seasonal offerings
Support day-to-day store and cafe operations alongside the Cafe Manager and store team
Assist with billing processes, order handling, and general customer service where required
Maintain a welcoming and well-organized store environment for customers
Gifting Sales Coordination
Identify and manage gifting or bulk order inquiries originating from the store
Maintain order details and updates within the CRM system
Coordinate billing and order confirmations with customers where required
Follow up with clients regarding order details, timelines, and feedback
Coordinate with the design team for print or packaging requirements when needed
Work closely with the Sales Admin team for execution of larger orders
Displays & Store Presentation
Maintain product and gifting displays within the store to ensure they remain well-presented and aligned with current collections
Ensure displays clearly showcase gifting options alongside general retail products
Support the team in updating displays when new collections or campaigns are introduced
Community Engagement & Activations
Build relationships with the local neighborhood and customer community
Identify opportunities to engage with nearby residents, businesses, and repeat customers
Act as the on-site point of contact for community-led activations, whether brand-led or external initiatives coordinated through the Community Manager
Be present in-store during events and activations and support their successful execution
Brand Storytelling & Customer Engagement
Stay informed about launches, updates, and initiatives across the Hunger Inc. brands
Share brand and product stories to create richer conversations with customers
Represent Bombay Sweet Shop and the wider Hunger Inc. ecosystem with enthusiasm and knowledge
Additional Responsibilities
Support the store and sales teams with operational tasks required to ensure smooth daily functioning
Undertake any additional responsibilities assigned that assist the store and sales teams in delivering excellent customer experiences
SKILLS REQUIRED
Strong customer service and relationship-building abilities
Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment
Familiarity with billing systems and point-of-sale processes
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Curiosity and enthusiasm for storytelling and brand engagement
