About The Opportunity

A fast-growing organisation in the Retail & B2B Distribution sector operating on-site counters and showrooms across India. We serve walk-in customers and SMB buyers, delivering accurate billing, high-quality product advice, and well-executed merchandising to drive repeat business and revenue growth.

Role: Counter Sales Executive (On-site, India)

Role & Responsibilities

  • Welcome and assist walk-in customers at the counteridentify needs, demonstrate products, make recommendations, and close sales with effective upsell techniques.
  • Process transactions accurately using POS systems: billing, cash/UPI/card payments, invoicing, returns, and exchange handling while maintaining cash reconciliation.
  • Maintain on-counter inventory and merchandising: restock shelves, rotate stock, apply pricing labels, and ensure product displays are neat and sale-ready.
  • Achieve daily and weekly sales targets; track and report sales metrics, conversion rates, and promotional performance to store management.
  • Coordinate with Warehouse/Procurement to communicate stock shortages, prepare pick lists, and assist with order fulfillment and dispatch when required.
  • Enforce store policies and compliance around cash handling, refunds, safety, and hygiene; keep the counter area clean and professionally presented.

Skills & Qualifications

Must-Have

  • Proven experience in counter or retail sales (on-site, customer-facing environment).
  • Proficiency operating Point-of-Sale (POS) systems and handling cash/UPI/card transactions with billing accuracy.
  • Basic inventory control knowledge and experience with barcode scanning systems.
  • Comfortable working shifts and meeting measurable sales targets in a fast-paced retail counter setting.
  • Good numeracy and attention to detail for billing, cash reconciliation, and stock counts.
  • Fluency in English and Hindi; knowledge of local language is an advantage.

Preferred

  • Familiarity with CRM software to log customer interactions and follow-ups.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel for basic reporting and daily sales logs.
  • Experience in retail merchandising or visual merchandising to improve conversion and average ticket size.
