Job Summary:

We are seeking a talented and motivated Sales Engineer, Mining to join our dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities:

Overall Purpose of Job

  • Your role is to maintain and grow Watson-Marlow Fluid technology Solutions sales in your sales sector.
  • Your experience means you are selling at all levels and grow our position as a leading, unique positive displacement pump type.
  • You will have a broad approach from sizing pumps at user level to keeping senior managers involved in new product introductions and purchasing groups commercially informed, requiring the overview, planning and approach of a manager.
  • Closeness to your markets will feedback into marketing strategy and tactics to develop our position further and therefore create new leads.

Main Duties And Responsibilities

  • Maintain contact with customers and ensure Watson-Marlow Fluid technology Solutions products are specified.
  • Achieve or exceed sales targets.
  • Identify design consultants and engineering contractors involved in projects with close and regular contact making us their preferred pump choice.
  • Identify upcoming projects and that the Watson-Marlow Pump Group specification is used.
  • Keep local and global team updated on projects by discussion and to maintain and progress projects.
  • Arrange and run customer training and presentations, which can be on-site and/or office based.
  • Feedback potential product improvements and complaints, where new applications offer greater potential but existing specifications exclude or lessen our suitability.
  • Increasing our market share by replacing other pump types as well as other manufacturers of peristaltic pumps.
  • Keep the Sales Manager updated with competitor activity encountered in the marketplace.
  • Identify, organize and progress field trials.
  • Identify and lead marketing activities maintaining our brand and finding new opportunities.
  • Keep CRM up to date with all customer activities.
  • Conduct all activities in accordance with the Quality Management System.

Interpersonal Interaction Requirements:

  • Skilled negotiator to achieve sales targets.
  • Needs to work well with WMFTS co-workers, reps/distributors, and customers, and achieve desired results.
  • Ability to foster relationships with external institutes and organisations to promote interest in the use of our products.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years experience in mining sales.
  • Mechanical / Technical sales experience.
  • Experience in process engineering.
  • Advanced English writing/reading competencies.

Special Qualifications

  • Negotiation skills.
  • Strong writing skills.
  • Data analysis skills.
  • Strategic Planning.

Computer Competencies Required For This Position

  • Computer literate, able to create correspondence in Word.
  • Able to produce and/or adapt PowerPoint presentations.
  • Able to use Excel/Access to analyze, collate, and present data.
  • Able to use Outlook for e-mail and appointment tracking purposes.
  • Has knowledge of and some experience working with a CRM (customer relation management system).
  • Must continue to grow with existing technology in an effort to become increasingly efficient.

Specific requirements for completing essential functions of the position:

  • Ability and willingness to travel nationally and occasionally internationally, as required.
