Job Description

The Sales Engineer will be responsible for driving sales and business development of marine navigation and communication (NavCom) products and services. The role involves identifying new opportunities, maintaining customer relationships, and providing technical solutions to clients in the maritime industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue targets for marine NavCom products and services.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities with ship owners, ship managers, shipyards, and offshore companies.
  • Promote and sell products such as Inmarsat-C, GMDSS systems, VDR, AIS, GPS, radar, and related bridge equipment.
  • Conduct vessel visits, customer meetings, and technical presentations to understand requirements and offer suitable solutions.
  • Prepare and submit techno-commercial proposals, quotations, and tenders.
  • Follow up on leads, negotiate contracts, and close sales deals.
  • Maintain strong relationships with existing customers to ensure repeat business and customer satisfaction.
  • Coordinate with service and technical teams for project execution, installation, and after-sales support.
  • Monitor equipment lifecycle data (e.g., battery expiry, survey due dates) to generate service and replacement opportunities.
  • Keep up to date with industry trends, regulatory requirements, and new technologies in marine navigation and communication systems.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and forecasts.

  • Iridium GMDSS (e.g., LT-3100S)
  • Voyage Data Recorders (VDR / SVDR)
  • AIS (Automatic Identification System)
  • GPS / GNSS Systems
  • Radar Systems
  • NAVTEX
  • EPIRB, SART, and other GMDSS equipment
  • GPS jamming and spoofing detection systems

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree / Diploma in Electronics, Marine Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • 2–5 years of experience in marine electronics/NavCom sales or service (preferred).
  • Strong technical knowledge of marine navigation and communication systems.
  • Good understanding of IMO/SOLAS regulations and survey requirements.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to travel for vessel visits and client meetings.
  • Ability to work independently and achieve sales targets.
