Job Summary
We are looking for a proactive and technically sound Sales Engineer responsible for lead generation across the complete product range and following up cases until successful execution. The role requires strong technical understanding, customer engagement, and the ability to drive sales independently, especially within pharmaceutical clients.
Key Responsibilities
1 Sales Target Achievement & Pipeline Management
Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets consistently.
Maintain a 3-month rolling sales forecast and ensure a healthy sales pipeline.
Track targets vs. achievements and take corrective actions where needed.
Strategically identify and win competitor accounts.
2 Technical Expertise & Customer Engagement
Develop in-depth technical knowledge of products, instruments, applications, operations, and software.
Conduct effective technical discussions to understand customer requirements and propose suitable solutions.
Stay updated on competitor products and market trends for strong competitive positioning.
3 Lead Generation, Field Activities & Relationship Building
Carry out extensive field sales promotion to increase market reach and visibility.
Engage with stakeholders across all levelsfrom shop-floor personnel to senior management.
Visit and coordinate with various customer departments to generate inquiries.
Attend sales calls, customer meetings, and follow-ups promptly.
4 Sales Execution & Order Closure
Independently close orders for regular products.
Work closely with the Manager on project-based opportunities, including solution development and sales strategy.
Ensure optimal utilization of working hours for productive sales outcomes.
5 Reporting, Documentation & Communication
Prepare and submit accurate and timely sales reports.
Ensure prompt communication via emails, proposals, and follow-ups.
Maintain complete internal documentation related to offers, customer interactions, and deal progress.
Qualifications
BE / B.Tech ECE, EIE, EEE
B.Sc. / M.Sc. Microbiology
Experience Required
15 years of experience in technical sales / instrumentation / application engineering
Must have handled pharmaceutical clients
Skills & Competencies
Strong ability to convince customers using logical and technical reasoning
High technical aptitude with quick learning capability
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Self-driven, target-oriented, and result-focused mindset
Working Conditions
Travel within assigned geography by bus, train, or bike (up to 100 km)
Willingness to work late hours or holidays during critical business situations
