About This Role
As a Sales Engineer at Astronomer, youll be a key partner to our clients, guiding them in deploying powerful data workflows to accelerate their business outcomes. You&aposll have the chance to work with cutting-edge technology, help customers solve complex data challenges, and influence our products evolution through client feedback. This role is ideal for someone who wants to make a visible impact while growing into an expert in workflow orchestration and Apache Airflow.
Hybrid Work Model: For this role, you will embrace a flexible hybrid work model, working at least
3 days per week at our Office in Hyderabad while delivering a seamless experience that is digitally and physically connected.
Work Timings - This role is to explicitly cover Asia Pacific Prospects/Customers, thus expected work timings for this role are from 7 am IST to 4 pm IST
What You Get To Do

What You Bring To The Role
- Experience and Expertise: 3 to 7 years experience in Sales Engineering, Solutions Engineering, Consulting, or similar roles within the data space, ideally with experience in modern data tools like Snowflake, Databricks, Fivetran, Tableau, or Confluent.
- Data Engineering Know-How: Familiarity with core data engineerings concepts such as orchestration, ELT/ETL, Git, and Role-Based Access Control (RBAC).
- Effective Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to simplify complex technical concepts for diverse audiences.
- Curiosity and Customer Empathy: A genuine desire to understand customer needs, patience, and empathy to support them through challenges.
- Drive to Innovate: Eagerness to learn and experiment with new technical concepts, tools, and approaches to stay ahead in the data industry.
- Customer Experience: 3+ years of Customer-facing experience in a technical or consultative role.
Bonus points if you have
- Hands-on Python scripting skills for data pipeline support.
- Experience with Apache Airflow or other open-source data tools.
- Background in designing data workflows in a production environment.
- Experience working with Command Line Interfaces (CLI).
- Experience with infrastructure tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
