Role OverviewWe're looking for a proactive Business Development Representative (BDR) to help expand Design Shifu's client base across the United States, United Kingdom, and Australia. In this role, you'll identify and engage potential clients, qualify leads, and set up demo calls for our senior sales team.
You'll have the opportunity to grow into a Senior Sales or Account Executive role within 612 months, where you'll independently manage client relationships, run discovery and demo calls, and close new business opportunities. This path is designed for high performers who consistently meet activity and revenue goals and demonstrate strong client communication skills.
You'll play a key role in driving top-of-funnel growth, ensuring every potential client understands the value of our subscription-based design model. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, coachable, and thrives in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities- Research and identify potential prospects that fit Design Shifu's Ideal Customer Profile (marketing agencies, startups, SMBs).
- Generate qualified leads through outbound outreach via LinkedIn, email, and phone.
- Follow up on inbound leads and qualify them based on need, budget, and timeline.
- Clearly articulate Design Shifu's value proposition and subscription plans to prospects.
- Schedule qualified discovery meetings for the senior sales team.
- Maintain clean, accurate lead and activity data in CRM.
- Achieve or exceed weekly and monthly KPIs for outreach, conversations, and meetings booked.
- Collaborate closely with marketing and sales teams to improve lead quality and messaging.
- Share feedback from prospects to refine targeting and positioning strategies.
Requirements- 2+ years of experience in B2B Sales Development or Business Development, preferably in SaaS, marketing services, or productized services.
- Proven track record generating qualified leads and booking meetings with decision-makers in the US, UK, and Australia.
- Comfortable initiating phone and video conversations with executives and agency owners.
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills: clear, confident, and concise.
- Familiarity with LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Hubspot (or similar CRMs), and outreach tools (apollo, snov etc).
- Strong organizational and follow-up skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to learn quickly, accept feedback, and iterate based on performance.
- Driven, persistent, and eager to build a sales career in a growing design SaaS company.
Good to Have- Experience selling creative or marketing-related services.
- Understanding of design and marketing agency workflows.
- Prior exposure to productized or subscription-based SaaS models.
- Background in using automation or sequencing tools (Apollo, Snov.io, HubSpot, etc.).
- Familiarity with outbound campaigns targeting founders, CMOs, and marketing managers.
