Who are we looking for
We are looking for an experienced Sales Consultant Traditional Trade / Bazaar Channels to support a global strategy consulting firm working with a leading building materials player to strengthen sales execution and go-to-market effectiveness across India. This is a highly on-ground, execution-focused role, ideal for professionals with deep experience in distributor-led GTM models and traditional trade sales.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Work closely with frontline sales teams (RSMs, ASMs, Sales Managers) to drive execution excellence across bazaar / traditional trade channels.
- Support distributor, dealer, and retailer effectiveness initiatives, including coverage expansion, productivity improvement, and GTM discipline.
- Conduct regular market visits, outlet audits, and performance reviews to identify execution gaps and improvement opportunities across regions.
- Enable and track the rollout of sales processes, incentives, and trade initiatives to improve throughput and consistency on the ground.
- Act as a bridge between central program teams and field sales, ensuring alignment, feedback loops, and disciplined execution across markets.
- Support regional teams in translating sales strategy into measurable, on-ground outcomes.
Skills & Qualifications:
- 615 years of hands-on sales experience within building materials (cement, paints, plywood, tiles, or allied categories).
- Strong exposure to bazaar / traditional trade sales models and distributor-led go-to-market structures.
- Proven experience working closely with large field sales teams and channel partners.
- Strong execution mindset with the ability to operate in fast-paced, on-ground environments.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Language proficiency: Hindi (mandatory) for field-level engagement; working knowledge of English required.
Other Details:
- Location: Mumbai (base), with extensive PAN-India travel
- Engagement Duration: Initial contract of 12 months, extendable based on performance
- Project Tenure: Approximately 2 years
