Role Description The Sales Associate role at VWMart is a full-time, on-site position based in Nawanshahr. The Sales Associate is responsible for welcoming customers, understanding their needs, and assisting them in finding products, while maintaining a friendly and professional attitude. Daily tasks include stocking shelves, arranging displays, checking product labels and prices, and ensuring cleanliness and orderliness in the store. The role also involves operating the billing counter or POS system, handling cash and digital payments accurately, and managing basic customer queries or concerns. Sales Associates work closely with the store team to support inventory counts, promotional activities, and smooth store operations during all shifts.

Qualifications

• Ability to deliver courteous, helpful customer service and communicate clearly with a diverse range of shoppers.
• Basic retail and cash-handling skills, including operating POS systems and processing various payment methods accurately.
• Attention to detail for stocking, labeling, and maintaining product displays and store cleanliness.
• Strong work ethic with reliability, punctuality, and the ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting and moving stock.
• Team-oriented mindset, with the ability to follow store procedures and collaborate effectively with colleagues and supervisors.
• Prior experience in grocery or retail sales is beneficial but not mandatory; willingness to learn and adapt is essential.
• Minimum high school education or equivalent is preferred; basic numeracy and literacy skills are required.
• Flexibility to work different shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed for 24-hour store operations.
