About Shikha's Kariigarii

Shikha's Kariigarii, a woman led social enterprise and startup, working in the field of handlooms, handicrafts and hand painting on fabric and products. The company believes in the preservation and promotion of art forms, through its curation on the fabric, for its usage on special occasions. We curate and showcase exquisite hand-painted sarees and handloom creations crafted by skilled artisans across India. Our mission is to connect the timeless artistry of Indian weavers with a discerning global audience — through experiential showcases, cultural events, luxury collaborations, and digital commerce.

Role Overview

We are seeking a dynamic, passionate, and well-networked Sales & Marketing Executive with a deep understanding of Indian fabrics, handlooms, and textile traditions. The ideal candidate will serve as the brand ambassador for Shikha's Kariigarii — bridging artisan communities, government bodies, hospitality partners, and international clientele to amplify the brand's footprint and drive revenue.

Key Responsibilities

Institutional & Hospitality Partnerships

  • Identify and collaborate with premium hotels, resorts, and luxury hospitality venues across India to host curated showcases and pop-up exhibitions of Shikha's hand-painted sarees for domestic and international guests.
  • Develop and maintain long-term relationships with hotel sales, events, and concierge teams to create ongoing visibility for the brand.
  • Negotiate co-branding and display agreements that align with the brand's premium positioning.

Government & Institutional Liaison

  • Establish and nurture partnerships with government bodies such as the DC Handlooms (Development Commissioner for Handlooms), Ministry of Textiles, Handloom Export Promotion Council (HEPC), and state-level Khadi & Village Industries bodies.
  • Actively pursue participation in government-supported fashion shows, cultural melas, craft fairs, and international textile expos.
  • Coordinate applications, documentation, and logistics for government-sponsored events and exhibitions.
  • Leverage grants, incentive schemes, and subsidies available for handloom entrepreneurs and artisans.

Artisan Collaboration & Product Sourcing

  • Build and maintain a trusted network of artisans and weavers associated with Shikha's Karigarii across different craft clusters and regions.
  • Travel to artisan studios, weaving clusters, and craft hubs across India for product sourcing, quality evaluation, and collection development.
  • Coordinate with artisans to fulfil bespoke customer orders — translating client design preferences into actionable briefs for craftspeople.
  • Ensure ethical sourcing practices and maintain accurate records of artisan profiles, product inventory, and lead times.

Digital Sales — Instagram & WhatsApp

  • Monitor and manage all incoming sales inquiries on Instagram DMs and WhatsApp Business in a timely and professional manner.
  • Understand individual customer requirements in detail — occasion, fabric preference, colour palette, customisation needs — and communicate these clearly to the artisans.
  • Manage the complete sales cycle: inquiry → product selection / customisation → order confirmation → payment → delivery follow-up.
  • Proactively share new arrivals, collections, and behind-the-scenes content with prospective and existing customers to nurture interest and drive conversions.
  • Maintain a well-organised customer database and follow up on warm leads systematically.

Event & Exhibition Management

  • Scout, plan, and execute participation in fashion shows, cultural festivals, craft exhibitions, and trade fairs across India.
  • Manage end-to-end event logistics: stall setup, product curation, staffing, display design, and post-event reporting.
  • Build visibility and media coverage for Shikha's Karigari at events through networking, press relationships, and social media documentation.

Qualifications & Skills Required

▪ Education : Bachelor's or Master's degree in Fashion Design, Textile Design, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field

▪ Experience: Minimum 5 years of proven experience in sales and marketing within the textile, handloom, fashion, or lifestyle sector.

Domain Knowledge

  • In-depth knowledge of Indian handloom traditions — weaves, fabrics, dyeing techniques, regional textiles and hand-painting crafts.
  • Familiarity with India's handloom ecosystem: government bodies, industry associations, craft clusters, and export channels.

Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Hindi (additional regional languages are a plus).
  • Strong interpersonal and networking skills with the ability to build relationships across diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficient in using Instagram Business, WhatsApp Business, and basic digital tools for lead tracking and customer communication.
  • Self-motivated, target-driven, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Organised with the ability to manage multiple tasks, artisans, and clients simultaneously.

Why Join Shikha's Kariigarii

◆ Work directly with master artisans and weavers, and witness the magic of craft up close.

◆ Gain exposure to luxury hospitality brands, government cultural programmes, and international clientele.
