We're Hiring: Sales & Costing Engineer
We are seeking an experienced Sales & Costing Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in LV panel design, cost estimation, and proposal development.
Key Responsibilities:
Cost Estimation & Proposal Development
- Analyze client and tender specifications to prepare accurate technical and commercial proposals
- Develop detailed Bills of Quantity (BOQ) and project cost estimates
- Calculate costs related to materials, labor, and other project requirements
Design & Engineering
- Design Low Voltage (LV) panels including PCC, MCC, APFC, and control panels
- Prepare Single Line Diagrams (SLD), General Arrangement (GA) drawings, and wiring diagrams using AutoCAD
- Select appropriate electrical components (ACB, MCCB, MCB, relays, VFDs, etc.) based on load calculations
- Ensure designs are safe, cost-effective, space-optimized, and compliant with standards
Coordination & Collaboration
- Coordinate with procurement, sales, quality, and production teams
- Liaise with vendors to obtain competitive quotations
- Work closely with project managers and engineering teams to deliver feasible solutions
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain updated costing databases and component libraries
- Ensure compliance with IS and IEC standards
- Prepare and manage enquiry lists, quotation lists, and other project documentation
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of electrical panel design and switchgear components
- Expertise in costing, estimation, and BOQ preparation
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Excel
- Solid understanding of electrical power distribution systems
Soft Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively across teams
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
- 35 years of experience in the electrical manufacturing industry, preferably with LV panels
