Job Description

Role Summary

We are hiring for the Abrasives Division to drive the Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) management system at the plant. The role is responsible for ensuring statutory compliance, managing highrisk activities, strengthening contractor safety, and continuously improving safety performance across operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain EHS systems and procedures in line with statutory requirements and company policies.
  • Drive Safety culture building initiative across the Business Unit
  • Ensure Behaviour observations are carried out by the line management team.
  • Implement corporate EHS programs and guidelines across the Business Unit
  • To check and evaluate the effectiveness of HIRA for all routine and nonroutine plant activities.
  • To render assistance in Investigating accidents, near misses and unsafe conditions; identifying root causes and driving corrective actions.
  • To monitor and drive EHS performance, compliance levels and effectiveness of safety systems across the plant, in order to fulfil EHS objectives of the Business units.
  • To carry out plant safety inspections on physical conditions of work and the work practices and procedures followed by workers and to render advise on measures to be adopted for reducing the risk.
  • Coordinate with external and internal agencies for EHS audits, assessments and inspections.
  • Support and coordinate ISO 14001/45001 certification compliance.
  • Conduct safety inductions, trainings, motivation programs and safety committee meetings as per plan.
  • Contractor safety compliance and safe work practices at all worksites.
  • Prepare safety MIS reports, analyze trends and review plant safety performance with stakeholders.
  • Coordinate safety audits (EHS / PPE / statutory) and ensure timely closure of audit findings
  • Manufacturing Industry Expertise Preferred: Leverage extensive experience within the manufacturing and process industry to implement practical, plant-ready safety solutions and operational standards.

Qualification & Experience

8+ years of experience

Degree/Diploma In Engineering with Diploma in Industrial Safety from RLI (or) M.E in Industrial Safety Engineering approved by Director of Industrial Safety and Health
