Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Safety Officer for immediate deployment at our project site. The selected candidate will be responsible for implementing and monitoring all Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) requirements, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations, company safety standards, and client expectations. The role is critical to maintaining a safe working environment and supporting smooth project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulations, company HSE policies, and client safety requirements.
- Conduct daily site safety inspections and identify unsafe conditions and unsafe acts.
- Implement and monitor site-specific safety plans, procedures, and risk control measures.
- Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, and awareness training for site personnel.
- Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) by all employees and subcontractors.
- Monitor high-risk activities such as work at height, lifting operations, confined space entry, hot work, and electrical work.
- Carry out Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and Risk Assessments before commencement of critical activities.
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions; prepare reports and recommend corrective actions.
- Coordinate emergency preparedness activities, mock drills, and first-aid arrangements.
- Maintain all statutory safety records, permits, inspection reports, and compliance documentation.
- Liaise with client representatives during safety inspections and audits.
- Support project management in achieving zero-incident performance and continuous safety improvement.
Qualifications
- Diploma/Degree in Engineering or any relevant discipline.
- Professional certification in Industrial Safety (Diploma/Advanced Diploma/PG Diploma) from a recognized institution.
- Additional certifications such as NEBOSH IGC, IOSH, First Aid, Fire Safety, or OSHA will be an added advantage.
Experience
- 3–6 years of experience as a Safety Officer in construction, infrastructure, industrial, or engineering projects.
- Experience working on client-managed project sites is preferred.
- Knowledge of statutory safety regulations and client-specific HSE requirements.
