Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and responsible Safety Officer for a Port Logistics Container Terminal company. The candidate will be responsible for implementing and monitoring workplace safety standards, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, minimizing operational risks, and promoting a strong safety culture across terminal operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Safety Monitoring Compliance Ensure implementation of safety policies and procedures across terminal operations Monitor compliance with port, container terminal, and workplace safety regulations Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments Identify unsafe practices and recommend corrective actions
- Operational Safety Management
Supervise safety measures during cargo handling, container movement, loading/unloading, and equipment operations
Ensure proper usage of PPE and safety equipment by all employees and contractors
Monitor crane, forklift, trailer, and heavy equipment safety practices
Coordinate with operations teams to maintain safe working conditions
- Incident Investigation Reporting
Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-miss cases
Prepare incident reports and recommend preventive measures
Maintain safety records, logs, and compliance documentation
Conduct root cause analysis for workplace incidents
- Training Awareness Conduct safety induction and toolbox talks for employees and contractors Organize regular safety awareness and emergency response training Promote a proactive safety culture within the organization Ensure employees are aware of emergency evacuation procedures
- Emergency Risk Management Coordinate emergency response procedures and drills Ensure fire safety systems and emergency equipment are properly maintained Support management in crisis and risk management planning Monitor hazardous operations and ensure preventive safety measures
Key Requirements
Minimum 10 years of experience in container terminal / port logistics safety operations
Government-approved Safety Certification mandatory
Strong knowledge of industrial and port safety standards
Experience in handling operational safety within container terminals
Good communication and reporting skills
Ability to handle emergency situations and operational risks effectively
Strong observation, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
Preferred Skills
Knowledge of HSE standards and safety audit procedures
Experience working with port equipment and cargo handling operations
Leadership and team coordination skills
Ability to work in rotational shifts and operational environments
