Designation- Safety Officer

Current Job Location- Pune (Manchar), Maharashtra

Position Overview:

The Safety officer in construction is responsible for overseeing and implementing safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment on construction sites. They are tasked with identifying potential hazards, conducting safety inspections, providing safety training, and enforcing safety regulations to minimize the risk of accidents and injuries

Key Responsibilities:

Develop, implement and enforce policies that reduce the risk of accidents.

Determine what policies are needed and how to enforce them.

Inspects & Monitor the site to ensure it is a hazard-free environment.

Coordinate & Conducts toolbox meetings

Reviews and approves all contractors safety plans

Verifies that injury logs and reports are completed and submitted.

Verifies that all tools and equipment are adequate and safe for use.

Promotes safe practices at the job site.

Enforces safety guidelines.

Motivate contractor's safety team to arrange Trainings and carries out drills and exercises on how to manage emergency situations.

Conducts investigations of all accidents and near-misses.

Reports to concerned authorities as requested or mandated by regulations.

Conducts job hazard analyses.

Establishes safety standards and policies as needed.

Performs emergency response drills.

Watches out for the safety of all workers and works to protect them from entering hazardous situations.

Serves as the link between Client safety team and contractors.

Ensure all Safety norms and practices and being followed by Contractors on site and keep necessary records & arrange required reporting system.

Qualification

Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health And Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, ADIS- Advance diploma in Industrials safety or related field preferred

Citification in Occupational Health and safety (e.g., OSHA 30- Hour Construction Safety, CSP)is plus

Previous experience in construction safety or related field

Strong knowledge of construction safety regulations and best practices

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Attention to detail and ability to identify potential safety hazards

Problem- solving skills and ability to implement effective safety solutions

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast- paced environment
