Safety Officer / Fire & Safety – Chemical Industry

Oversee safety procedures and environmental compliance across chemical operations.

Issue daily safety work permits and conduct safety audits and mock drills.

Provide and monitor appropriate PPE usage and maintenance.

Investigate accidents or near misses, document findings, and implement preventive measures.

Operate and maintain a zero-discharge effluent treatment plant; manage effluent and wastewater analysis.

Liaise with state PCB and other EHS regulatory departments for approvals and reporting.

Develop protocols for safe handling and storage of hazardous chemicals in labs.

Coordinate preventive maintenance of fire hydrants, sprinklers, fire alarms, and PA systems.

Manage shift schedules, supervise PPE usage, and observe unsafe conditions.

Conduct tool-box talks and safety trainings for lab and engineering operators.

Inspect and trial safety equipment including SCBA sets, fire hydrants, sirens, first aid boxes, and fire extinguishers.

Manage ISO compliance related to tanker operations and chemical handling
