Job Role: Rust Engineer (AWS & Microservices)

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop REST and gRPC microservices using Rust.
• Build services using Tokio, Axum/Actix Web, Serde, and Cargo.
• Develop APIs based on OpenAPI and Protobuf contracts.
• Implement business logic, API validation, error handling, persistence, caching, messaging, and resilient service integrations.
• Integrate AWS services including S3, SQS/SNS, EventBridge, DynamoDB, RDS/Aurora, CloudWatch, IAM, and Secrets Manager.
• Develop asynchronous and concurrent applications with appropriate timeouts, retries, backoff, idempotency, and failure handling.
• Implement structured logging, metrics, distributed tracing, and correlation/trace IDs using Rust tracing, OpenTelemetry, CloudWatch, and AWS X-Ray.
• Write unit, integration, API/contract, and component tests and maintain quality using cargo test, Clippy, and rustfmt.
• Containerize applications using Docker and support deployments through EKS/ECS/Fargate and CI/CD pipelines.
• Troubleshoot application and performance issues involving latency, CPU, memory, I/O, networking, and asynchronous workloads.
• Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, production support, defect resolution, and root-cause analysis.
