Rules Author CAD CPA Automation

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Rules Author to join our CPQ and CAD automation team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with rule-based configuration platforms such as Tacton, KBMax (Epicor CPQ), DriveWorks, or KBEWorks, and a strong understanding of CAD customization and engineering logic. This role is crucial for translating complex product logic into an automated, rule-driven system that streamlines our sales and engineering processes.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Rule Development & Maintenance: Design, develop, and maintain configuration rules for CPQ platforms.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with product managers, engineers, and sales teams to translate product logic into executable rules.
• CAD Automation: Customize CAD models and automate drawing generation using integrated tools.
• Optimization & Troubleshooting: Ensure rule accuracy, performance, and maintainability. Troubleshoot and optimize existing rule sets and configuration workflows.
• Documentation & Validation: Document rule logic, configuration flows, and technical specifications. Participate in the testing and validation of rule-based outputs and CAD deliverables.

Skills

• Proficiency in at least one of the following rule-based platforms: Tacton, KBMax (Epicor CPQ), DriveWorks, or KBEWorks.
• Strong understanding of engineering principles and product configuration logic.
• Experience with CAD platforms such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Inventor.
• Familiarity with scripting or visual rule engines (e.g., Snap for Epicor CPQ).
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.
• Experience with ERP/PLM integrations is preferred.
• Exposure to manufacturing or engineer-to-order (ETO) environments is a plus.
• Knowledge of BOM generation and CAD-PDM workflows is preferred.

Qualifications

• A degree in BE Mech/Production/Electrical/Industrial is preferred.
• Professional experience in CPQ rule authoring or CAD automation.
