Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced
RTL Design Engineer to work on
automotive microcontroller infrastructure IPs and system resources. The role involves end-to-end RTL design ownership, from micro-architecture definition to design quality checks, with a strong focus on safety-critical automotive standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, design, and implement digital design IPs for automotive microcontroller infrastructure and system resources.
- Derive micro-architecture from architectural specifications and functional requirements.
- Develop complex RTL designs independently or as part of a larger design team.
- Insert Design for Test (DFT) and Design for Manufacturability (DFM) structures including scan chains and memory BIST.
- Define and implement safety-related structures to meet the required ASIL levels.
- Perform design quality checks including synthesis, lint, CDC/RDC, DFT, and power analysis.
- Create and maintain design documentation in compliance with ISO 26262 (functional safety) and ISO 21434 (cybersecurity) standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a related technical field.
- Strong hands-on experience in area- and power-efficient RTL design using Verilog or VHDL.
- Solid understanding of how RTL maps to gate-level implementations.
- Knowledge of automotive communication protocols such as Ethernet, PCIe, CAN, SPI, and SENT.
- Experience working effectively in team-based and cross-functional environments.
- Exposure to international and multi-cultural technical teams.
- Basic knowledge of automotive safety standards, especially ISO 26262.
- Excellent English communication skills; German language skills are a plus.
