Job Title: RPM Portfolio Analyst

Location: Mumbai, India

Role Description

  • Risk and Portfolio Management (RPM) is looking for highly talented candidates with a Finance / Credit Risk background, to work in a new 1st Line of Defense Rating and Risk Governance team. This role is categorized as Risk & Portfolio Analyst and would suit a well-organized and collaborative individual who is looking to develop their credit risk skills within a dynamic, fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will play a significant role in contributing to the global Corporate Bank's Trade Finance and Lending Business.

Your key responsibilities

  • The role is responsible for delivering highquality internal credit ratings for global Corporate and Financial Institution counterparties, in line with Deutsche Bank's Credit Risk Management standards, policies, and regulatory expectations.

  • Deliver highquality new credit ratings in line with the Bank's credit standards, meeting defined quality benchmarks and turnaroundtime expectations to support sustainable business growth.
  • Conduct endtoend credit due diligence and rating assessments for global Corporate and FI counterparties (Banks and Insurance) across regions (US, Europe, APAC, and MEA) for prospective deals and borrower groups.
  • Perform indepth analysis of financial statements, business models, industry dynamics, competitive positioning, and country/macroeconomic risks to form wellreasoned credit views.
  • Apply Bank's Credit Policies, rating methodologies, and procedures consistently to ensure accurate and defensible rating outcomes.
  • Prepare and present rating cases to the relevant Credit Risk Committees, responding effectively to challenges and feedback.
  • Partner closely with Business, Credit Risk, and other stakeholders to resolve information gaps, minimize rework, and improve firsttimeright outcomes.
  • Ensure full compliance with applicable internal policies, regulatory requirements, and governance standards, including timely documentation and auditready records.

Your skills and experience

Technical Skills

  • 2-3 years of relevant experience in credit analysis / credit ratings within a bank, rating agency, or financial institution.
  • Strong financial analysis and accounting skills (IFRS, US Gaap), with the ability to interpret complex financial disclosures.
  • Good understanding of corporate and/or FI business models, industry risks, and country risk considerations.
  • Enhanced understanding of regulatory credit risk concepts, including RiskWeighted Assets (RWA), Loss Given Default (LGD), asset quality indicators, and regulatory capital frameworks.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate credit views clearly to senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage priorities in a highvolume, timesensitive environment while maintaining quality standards.
  • Professional certifications such as CFA or FRM (completed or in progress) are considered an advantage

Behavioral Skills

  • Strong team player with the ability to collaborate effectively within a global, multilocation credit team and contribute positively to shared outcomes.
  • Effective presentation skills, with the confidence and clarity to present credit assessments and risk views to senior stakeholders and Credit Risk Committees.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage constructively with Business, Risk, and other partners across functions and seniority levels.
