Position Overview

Autodesk is looking for a passionate individual that wants to be part of a fast-moving company transforming how it delivers value to its customers through people, processes, and technology.

The Engineering Manager on the Robotic Process Automation team will be responsible for driving excellence in delivering automation solutions within Autodesk's Finance organization by collaborating with both business and technology teams. The role will ensure the finance automation portfolio as well as new automation opportunities are designed, developed, deployed, and maintained to ensure that business process automation is highly available, secure, resilient, and delivers the outcomes our world-wide finance teams require.


Responsibilities

  • Delivery Management: ensure all work on automations and workflows (newopportunities, enhancements, bug fixes) flows unblocked through the softwaredevelopment lifecycle

  • Incident management: identify continuous improvement opportunities byreviewing incidents requiring the team's intervention to resolve

  • Test management: ensure all automation work has been properly tested anddocumented before automations are deployed to production

  • Change Management: in collaboration with the team's senior manager, ensureall automation work deployed to production has been approved via theenterprise service management tool

  • Continuous Improvement: in collaboration with senior manager and productmanager, develop data-driven tools to identify continuous improvementopportunities

  • Documentation management: ensure all technical documentation is up to dateand conforms to Autodesk engineering documentation standards and bestpractices

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's degree in computer science, Information Systems or related field,plus 12 years of experience in managing software development teams,including 5 years managing automation development teams

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience using low-code development tools especiallyUiPath, Alteryx and Power Platform automation development products

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in high level language development such asPython, Java, C#, etc

  • Experience using Kanban as a workflow management tool for softwaredevelopment

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of experience withUiPath, Microsoft Power Platform, and Alteryx automationdevelopment tools

  • Experience with software engineering practices using such as GitHub, CI/CDpipelines and cloud devo's tools used in AWS and Azure

  • Experience with generative AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini, Experience with ML tools such as Azure Search and Document IntelligentServices. Understands agentic AI and appropriate use cases automationsolutions

  • Experience using automated testing tools such as Selenium, Xray, Test rails,and UiPath Test Suite. Experience writing unit tests, integration tests, UAT testplans

  • Software architecture, data flow and network/infrastructure diagrams as wellas product requirement documents using tools such as Lucid chart andConfluence

  • Managers of Professional roles - and/or managers of people that manage Support roles

  • Manages work for medium size team, or multiple small teams and achieves resultsby directing work through supervisors/team leads and professional employees

  • Typically focused on areas of subject matter expertise within one discipline

  • Keep their teams organized, efficient, effective, productive, and motivated throughprofessional leadership techniques

  • Responsible for managing deliverables against expected results with a timeline thatis typically longer than a quarter

  • Focus is more operational, and decisions are typically made within established policies, procedures and objectives
