You won't be writing documentation nobody reads. You'll own a subsystem that ships.
Autonomy & Perception
Perception on real orchard footage, VIO/SLAM in GPS-denied rows, sensor fusion, Jetson deployment, ROS2.
Strong Python, C++ comfortable, OpenCV/PyTorch work you can show us.
Simulation
Gazebo/Isaac Sim orchard worlds, URDF modelling, synthetic datasets, sim-to-real gap analysis, regression testing.
Python + ROS2, transforms and quaternions, some physics-engine experience.
Hardware — Electronics
PCB design in KiCad/Altium, power and BMS, LiDAR and RTK GNSS characterization, CAN, harnessing, STM32/ESP32 firmware.
At least one PCB you've laid out and brought up yourself.
Hardware — Mechanical
Chassis, mounts, gantry and implement CAD, DFM with local vendors, drivetrain and suspension, hands-on build and iteration.
