The Job

A Robotics Maintenance In charge is responsible to oversee the technical team responsible for the installation, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial robots and automated systems to maximize uptime and efficiency. They manage both mechanical and software aspects of robots, ensuring safety standards (such as OSHA) are met and, in many cases, oversee spare parts inventory.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute preventative (daily, weekly, annual) and predictive maintenance schedules for Fanuc robotics system.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic faults in robot arms, end-of-arm tooling (EOAT), and controllers
• Modify robot programs and adjust PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) logic for optimized operation. Excellent understanding of servo motors, sensors, robot programming (teaching pendants), PLC ladder logic, and electrical schematics.
• Manage spares and inventory, negotiate prices for repair work, and work within budgetary constraints
• Maintain records of maintenance activities, repairs, and technical specifications, often using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
• Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures, and maintain accident-proof operations
• Supervise, train, and mentor maintenance technicians, allocating manpower as per requirements.

Qualification and Experience

Candidate shall be Graduate Engineer in Mechatronics / Mechanical / Electrical with 8 to 10 years of experience in CNC / VMC Machine shop in automotive industry. Immediate joiners are preferred.
