Role Overview:
We are seeking a Robotics Engineering Intern to join our Pune team on an on-site basis. In this role, you will work at the intersection of industrial automation, robotics, and software, gaining hands-on experience in programming and deploying industrial robots while contributing to simulation, digital twins, and autonomous robotics systems. You will collaborate with our vision and AI teams and may also get opportunities to travel to customer sites for installation, testing, and deployment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program, configure, and optimize multi-axis industrial robots such as KUKA, ABB, Fanuc, and Yaskawa for manufacturing and automation applications.
- Build and work with digital twins and simulation environments using NVIDIA Isaac Sim / Omniverse and Gazebo.
- Develop and maintain robotics software and control pipelines using ROS / ROS 2.
- Implement and test trajectory planning, collision avoidance, kinematics, and dynamics in simulation before physical deployment.
- Integrate and calibrate robot controllers, end-effectors, sensors, safety systems, and machine vision systems.
- Collaborate with computer vision and AI teams to integrate perception, path planning, and closed-loop control with physical robots.
- Support robot installation, commissioning, testing, and on-site deployment at customer locations.
- Assist with robot optimization for speed, accuracy, and repeatability, as well as client handover and training.
Qualifications:
- Final-year student or recent graduate in Robotics, Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Familiarity with or hands-on project experience in programming industrial robots such as KUKA, ABB, Fanuc, or Yaskawa is preferred.
- Experience with ROS / ROS 2, including concepts such as navigation, MoveIt, TF, and custom nodes.
- Practical experience with robotics simulation platforms such as NVIDIA Isaac Sim / Omniverse or Gazebo.
- Strong programming skills in Python and/or C++, preferably in a Linux/Ubuntu environment.
- Basic understanding of robot kinematics, dynamics, trajectory planning, and coordinate transformations.
- Understanding of electrical wiring, industrial I/O, sensors, calibration, and industrial communication protocols is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a willingness to work hands-on with both software and physical robotic systems.
- Candidates with relevant robotics projects, internships, academic work, or hands-on lab experience will be preferred.
