About Risk
The Risk department ensures that the Banks risk is managed through a risk management architecture as well as through policies and processes approved by the Board of Directors encompassing independent identification, measurement and management of risks across the various businesses of the Bank. The Risk department of the Bank strives to proactively anticipate vulnerabilities at the transaction as well as at the portfolio level, through quantitative or qualitative examination of the embedded risks
AbouttheRole
Effective management of the Product/Process Approval framework of the Bank. The framework ensures that approval for new products / processes and changes therein are introduced through a documented procedure in order to ensure that risks associated with products and processes are identified and necessary controls are defined and agreed.
Key Responsibilities

Independently managing and driving process approvals for new products or change in the processes pertaining to Cards and Merchant Acquiring business, WBP, Retail Lending Business.

Evaluating new products and its related processes/changes in existing processes

Effectively reviewing processes, identifying gaps in the process and finalizing the solution approach with business/operations unit before circulating the notes to stakeholders for their approval

Ensuring comprehensiveness of process, zero design failures and providing inputs to make the process more efficient and seamless with emphasis on automation.

Identification of potential risk in processes and suggesting mitigants for strengthening the process

Liaise and coordinate with key stakeholders across business functions to ensure that a robust process is introduced within the stipulated timelines

To create awareness in the business units to ensure that the unit adheres to the laid down guidelines and the policies of the Bank, so that all the new/changes in the existing processes are approved and documented appropriately

Carrying out process walkthroughs and control testing of approved processes.

Validation of Risk and controls identified during process approval and its effectiveness

Initiation of Projects with high financial impact / Improvement of Customer Service

Preparation and submission of presentations/ reports/MIS within stipulated time and with precise information

Qualifications

Graduate/Post Graduate with good academic background with 8 - 10 years of banking experience

Candidate having previous experience in Payments Systems (Cards and Merchant Acquiring) would be preferred

Role Proficiencies:

Expert knowledge and understanding of Cards and Merchant Acquiring offerings including regulatory guidelines

Should be able to independently partner with Business functions and have a collaborative approach while assessing the product/process

Hands on experience in Cards & Merchant Acquiring business will be a plus

Should have strong analytical & problem solving skill

Should have good communication, presentation and inter-personal skills

Should have high level of motivation and be a fast learner

Innovative thinking and awareness of industry practice

Strong individual contributor, with high degree of self-reliance and self-initiative
