Job Description

Role Purpose

The Risk Officer will support the implementation of risk management activities across project and organizational levels. The role will focus on risk identification, assessment, reporting, treatment plan follow-up, internal compliance monitoring, and support for financial control reviews.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Maintain and update project and departmental risk registers, mitigation trackers, and action plans.
  2. Support risk identification, assessment, review meetings, and periodic risk reporting for management.
  3. Track treatment plans, overdue actions, escalation matters, and follow-up with assigned risk owners.
  4. Identify and evaluate risks related to project execution, cost, schedule, procurement, subcontractors, contracts, quality, HSE, and compliance.
  5. Support monitoring of compliance with internal policies, procedures, delegation of authority, and approval requirements.
  6. Assist in reviewing financial and operational controls related to budgeting, cost control, procurement, payments, claims, variation orders, and project financial reporting.
  7. Coordinate with project, finance, procurement, commercial, HSE, quality, and operations teams to validate risk and control information.
  8. Maintain proper documentation of risk assessments, control observations, as well as compliance issues, and follow-up actions.

Required Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's degree in engineering, Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, Risk Management, or a related field.
  2. Professional certification is preferred, such as ISO 31000, CIA, CRMP (RIMS), RMP etc.

Required Experience

  1. Minimum 5 years of experience in risk management, internal control, compliance, and project controls.
  2. Predominant experience in construction, EPC, infrastructure, engineering, contracting, or project-based industries.
  3. Experience in maintaining risk registers, mitigation trackers, risk reports, and dashboards.
  4. Familiarity with internal compliance, policies, procedures, approval authorities, and governance controls.
  5. Familiarity with financial control systems, ERP workflows, budgeting, cost monitoring, procurement controls, and financial reporting controls.
  6. Experience working with cross-functional project and support teams.
