Position Summary

Level: Manager

As a Manager at Deloitte Consulting, you will oversee the technical delivery of enterprise-scale software solutions, lead cross-functional and global teams and mentor junior members. You will collaborate to understand functional requirements, support sales and proposal efforts, and drive end-to-end project delivery, including estimation and planning, to ensure successful outcomes.

Work you'll do:

  • Deal Desk & Contracting Support:

Assist sales teams with contract review and risk identification for proposed services. Review and revise draft contracts, including statements of work (SOWs) and proposals in response to RFIs/RFPs. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to advise on risk mitigation and ensure risks are addressed during sales and contracting cycles.

  • Risk Consultation & Review:

Conduct risk reviews for SOWs, engagement letters, change orders, and framework agreements (MSAs, NDAs, teaming agreements). Provide guidance on approaches to reduce and manage risks, collaborating with risk managers across functions for seamless risk management.

  • Ongoing Contracting & Risk Management:

Support contracting and risk mitigation for ongoing requirements, including amendments and renewals. Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and internal policies. Partner with account leadership and quality teams to identify and mitigate post-signature delivery risks.

  • Knowledge Management & Training:

Maintain knowledge of core professional services and product offerings to support contracting and risk matters in a dynamic environment. Independently manage contractual issues and serve as a trusted advisor. Mentor and train colleagues to enhance compliance with firm policies and processes.

  • Strategic Initiatives:

Advance firm initiatives in software, cloud, data analytics, AI, operate services, privacy, and security. Support development and adoption of improved risk management and contracting processes, tools, and templates.

The team:

Quality Risk Management team provides support from pursuit through engagement delivery to anticipate, advise on, and mitigate risks and quality issues. This team promotes innovation, drives efficiencies and collaboration, and provides meaningful insights to manage risk and improve the quality in the way we sell and deliver projects. This results in market differentiation, improved client outcomes, and positions our business to navigate the growing complexity in our engagements.

Qualifications

Must Have Skills/Project Experience/Certifications:

  • 5 - 8 years of hands-on experience in the Consulting/Professional Services space
  • Strong understanding of professional services contracting lifecycle with an emphasis on technology services
  • Deep understanding of risks associated with the delivery of professional consulting services and an ability to identify specific approaches to ameliorating such risks
  • Proven track record influencing diverse set of stakeholders and driving common outcomes with a strong understanding of commercial contracting processes, including terms and conditions
  • Outstanding verbal/written communication, collaboration, and negotiation skills to lead an environment driven by customer service and teamwork
  • Excellent leadership skills including ability to prioritize critical needs, act decisively, and handle a high volume of complex tasks within a given timeframe
  • Experience in reviewing and revising the scope of work documents with a focus on incorporating actionable and measurable guidance to address specific risks around delivery execution
  • Proven willingness to listen and learn, and a consistent record of making and explaining appropriate decisions (even when this leads to tough business discussions).

Good to Have Skills/Project Experience/Certifications:

  • Knowledge of one or more segments of our key industries: Life Science & Health Care (LSHC), Technology, Media and Telecommunications (TMT), Financial Services (FS), Consumer, and/or Energy, Resources, & Industrials (ERI) including key industry issues, the competitive landscape and recent developments.
  • Experience in Consulting field or a professional partnership
  • Experience handling risk issues pertaining to some combination of outsourcing, cloud software, software licensing and alliance agreements

Education:

  • BBA/BA/BS in related field, Masters Degree is desirable
