About the Role

The Risk Lead is responsible for overseeing risk strategy, policy implementation, and portfolio performance across assigned products. Based in Mumbai, the role focuses on delivering high-quality service while mitigating risks, ensuring compliance with internal and regulatory frameworks, and driving data-driven decision-making. The incumbent will collaborate closely with underwriting, sales, product, analytics, and technology teams to ensure the portfolio remains healthy and aligned with the Bank's growth and profitability objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities

  • Ensure all risk-related requirements are fulfilled while maintaining high service quality for customers.
  • Identify early warning signals and implement internal controls to manage portfolio risk.
  • Draft and update policy documents for assigned loan products
  • Oversee policy implementation to maintain portfolio quality and meet target turnaround times (TAT).
  • Leverage automation and other tools to enhance process efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver analytics and insights across Through-the-Door (TTD), credit, and collections metrics.
  • Partner with underwriting, sales, and product teams to incorporate market feedback into proactive policy actions.
  • Ensure compliance of internal regulatory frameworks across the assigned loan business.
  • Manage vendors supporting risk-related processes.

Secondary Responsibilities

  • Promote the use of market intelligence and data analytics to support growth and profitability.
  • Stay updated on global market trends and competitor strategies in key markets.
  • Lead initiatives to reduce operational costs and improve profitability.

What We Are Looking For

Education

  • Graduation: Full time graduate in any discipline from a recognised institution.
  • Post-graduation: MBA from a recognised institution.

Experience

  • Minimum of8yearsof experience in risk management, preferably in retail banking or financial services.

Skills and Attributes

  • Strong understanding of credit risk frameworks and retail lending products.
  • Proficiency in portfolio analytics, risk modelling, and early warning systems.
  • Experience in policy formulation and digital risk transformation.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strategic thinking with the ability to align risk appetite with business goals.
  • Leadership capabilities with a focus on team development, productivity, and cost efficiency.
  • High attention to detail and process orientation.
