Job Description

Job Purpose

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer with 5+ years of experience in Python & SQL Developer design,

develop, and optimize data-driven applications and backend systems. The ideal candidate will have strong

expertise in Python programming, SQL querying, and data processing, with the ability to build scalable and

efficient solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, maintain, and optimize Python-based applications and scripts
Write efficient, complex, and optimized SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions
Design and implement data pipelines and ETL workflows
Work with large datasets to perform data analysis, manipulation, and transformation
Optimize database performance through query tuning and indexing strategies
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and understand requirements
Integrate APIs and third-party services using Python
Perform debugging, troubleshooting, and code optimization
Ensure adherence to coding standards, best practices, and documentation

Key competencies

5+ years of hands-on experience in Python development
Strong proficiency in SQL (joins, subqueries, window functions, performance tuning)
Strong understanding of Object-oriented Programming (OOP) concepts and design principles.
Experience in writing efficient unit tests to ensure code quality and application reliability.
Experience with relational databases such as:
PostgreSQL / MySQL / SQL Server / Oracle
Knowledge of data structures and algorithms
Experience in building or working with ETL/data pipelines
Familiarity with REST APIs and microservices architecture
Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure / AWS / GCP)
Understanding of Docker, CI/CD pipelines

Nice to Have

Familiarity with Python frameworks such as Dash or Streamlit for building interactive dashboards and data

applications.

Knowledge of big data tools (Spark, Hadoop)
