Risk Analytics Consultant

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Risk Analytics Consultant.

In this role, you will:

• Participate in less complex analysis and modeling initiatives, and identify opportunity for process production, data reconciliation, and model documentation improvements within Risk Management
• Review and analyze programing models to extract data, and manipulate databases to provide statistical and financial modeling, and exercise independent judgment to guide new and existing projects with medium risk deliverables
• Coordinate and consolidate the production of monthly, quarterly, and annual performance reports for more experienced management
• Present recommendations for resolving data reconciliation, production, and database issues
• Exercise independent judgment while developing expertise in policy governance, risk projects, and regulatory requests
• Collaborate and consult with peers, managers, experienced managers, compliance, including various lines of business

Required Qualifications:

• 2+ years of Risk Analytics experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

• Should have experience with loading data using Python from various sources (SQL Server,DataLakes Flat Files, csv)
• Should have sound SQL server knowledge.
• Experience in writing optimized complex SQL query using multiple joins, analytical functions, sub-query.
• Strong Python development experience
• Hands on experience on libraries Pandas, Numpy, pyQT,csv
• Prior experience in automation of manual processes using Python
• Good understanding of handling large volumes of data efficiently using Python

Job Expectations:

• Develop and optimize SQL queries to create datasets for dashboards, including writing complex queries with multiple joins, sub-queries, and analytical functions.
• Utilize Python for data processing and automation, leveraging libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, and Matplotlib, along with advanced concepts like tkinter, exception handling, and multiprocessing.
• Apply Excel skills for data analysis and reporting, using basic formulas (mandatory) and intermediate/advanced functions (preferred).
• Understand and work with data warehouse concepts, including data sources, staging, and reporting layers.
• Manage and maintain existing codebase efficiently, ensuring proper version control and change tracking.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements, standardization, and automation to enhance operational efficiency.
• Demonstrate familiarity with Market Risk domain terminologies, including basic knowledge of derivative products, asset classes, and regulatory requirements.
