Job Description

Key Responsibilities

RF & Wireless Communication

  • Design, deploy, and maintain WiFi zones across mining areas, administrative blocks, and outdoor operational locations.
  • Set up, optimize, and troubleshoot PTP and PTMP wireless links for longrange connectivity inside the mine and remote monitoring points.
  • Conduct RF surveys, link budget analysis, and site feasibility assessments.

Network Operations

  • Install, configure, and maintain network infrastructure including:
  • Switches, routers, access points
  • Patch panels and structured cabling
  • Network diagnostic and monitoring tools
  • Perform regular network performance monitoring (bandwidth, latency, traffic load, uptime).

Field Technical Support

  • Troubleshoot connectivity issues for field devices (CCTV, sensors, control equipment, IoT units).
  • Repair and splice fiber/copper cables; work with colorcoded wire systems.
  • Ensure adherence to safety standards and compliance with minesite regulations.

Vendor & Stakeholder Coordination

  • Interact with hardware vendors to evaluate pricing, specifications, and compatibility.
  • Coordinate with IT teams, operations engineers, and external service providers.
  • Prepare cost estimates for network upgrades and infrastructure expansion.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain logs for network changes, outages, troubleshooting steps, and equipment installation.
  • Generate performance reports and recommend improvements.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 5–10 years of handson experience in wireless communication and network operations, preferably in field environments.
  • Strong experience with wireless PTP / PTMP, WiFi deployments, and outdoor RF equipment.
  • Knowledge of diagnostic tools, network monitoring systems, and structured cabling.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and execute technical instructions and schematics.
  • Expertise in cable repair (fiber/copper) and patch panel assembling.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problemsolving skills.
  • Ability to work independently in rugged and fastpaced environments.
