The Revenue Manager is responsible for maximizing hotel room revenue and profitability through strategic analysis, demand forecasting, pricing strategies, and inventory management. This role ensures the hotel achieves optimal financial performance by developing data-driven strategies aligned with market conditions and business goals.
Key Responsibilities1. Revenue & Pricing Strategy- Develop, implement, and monitor pricing strategies for all distribution channels.
- Optimize inventory allocation and control overbooking to maximize revenue.
- Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly analysis of market demand, competitor pricing, and booking trends.
- Recommend tactical changes in rate and distribution strategies to respond to market shifts.
2. Forecasting & Analysis- Prepare accurate short- and long-term forecasts for room revenue and occupancy.
- Analyze key performance metrics (RevPAR, ADR, Occupancy, Market Share, GOPPAR).
- Review and evaluate hotel performance reports such as STR, OTA Insight, TravelClick, etc.
- Identify revenue opportunities and risks, providing recommendations to leadership.
3. Distribution Channel Management- Manage online and offline distribution channels including brand.com, GDS, OTAs, and wholesale.
- Ensure rate parity across all channels and troubleshoot any discrepancies.
- Collaborate with e-commerce and marketing teams to optimize visibility and conversion.
4. Collaboration & Communication- Work closely with Sales, Front Office, Reservations, and Marketing to align revenue strategies.
- Lead revenue meetings and provide regular updates on performance and market trends.
- Train relevant stakeholders on revenue management tools and best practices.
5. Systems & Tools- Maintain and leverage RMS (Revenue Management System), PMS, CRS, and channel management systems.
- Ensure data integrity within all systems and recommend enhancements as needed.
QualificationsEducation & Experience- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business, Finance, or related field.
- 5 years of experience in hotel revenue management or related field (depending on level).
