Job Description

About Company

The company operates in the beauty and personal care industry, focusing on developing and marketing consumer products through digital-first and direct-to-consumer channels.

Job Description

The Role

You own revenue and receivables end-to-end — across offline trade (distributors, super-stockists, retailers) and online channels (marketplaces, quick commerce, D2C). You're the financial control layer between Sales, Supply Chain, and our distributors: setting credit discipline, governing schemes and claims, chasing collections, and reconciling every channel. And you make sure every rupee of revenue is recorded right, reconciled, and protected all the way down the gross-to-net journey. Put simply: from the moment a sale happens to the moment cash lands and net revenue is booked, you make sure nothing leaks and nothing's wrong.

What You'll Own

  • Distributor & trade receivables
  • Set distributor credit limits based on financial strength and risk
  • Track ageing, DSO, and zone-wise receivables; keep them tight
  • Drive collections and follow-ups alongside Sales
  • Reconcile distributor accounts; watch secondary-sales impact on receivables

Credit notes & trade schemes

  • Review and validate trade schemes (primary & secondary)
  • Control issuance and accounting of trade/quantity discounts, damage claims, expiry returns, rate difference adjustments, and incentive payouts
  • Make sure every credit note is documented and approved — no leakage through loose schemes

Online channels & settlement reconciliation

  • Own receivables from marketplaces / quick commerce / D2C
  • Reconcile sales vs settlement — claims, returns, penalties, marketing-spend adjustments
  • Reconcile D2C payment-gateway settlements, COD remittances, and RTO
  • Hunt down platform deduction patterns and recover what's been wrongly taken

Revenue recognition & gross-to-net

  • Ensure revenue is recognised in line with company policy — clean cut-off, returns/RTO accounting, deferred/accrued revenue
  • Build and own the gross-to-net waterfall: gross sales → discounts, schemes, returns, RTO, platform fees, marketing deductions → net revenue
  • Quantify net-revenue realisation by SKU, channel, and platform

Working capital & risk

  • Drive DSO down; spot and escalate risky distributor accounts early
  • Monitor credit exposure by geography Help build a structured distributor financing model; work with banks/NBFCs on channel financing

MIS & visibility

  • Deliver receivable MIS — ageing, collection efficiency, credit exposure, provisioning
  • Report channel-wise net revenue, realisation %, and deduction trends
  • Put leakage hotspots and the recovery pipeline in front of leadership

Controls & cross-functional

  • Keep tight controls over the revenue and receivables cycle
  • Partner with Sales on credit policy, collection targets, and scheme rollouts; with Supply Chain on dispatch hold/release
  • Support audits and help shape trade-finance and revenue policy

Who You Are

  • CA with 2–4 years, or a non-CA with 4–7 years of relevant experience — ideally in FMCG / Consumer / Retail / Distribution / D2C (trade receivables, credit control, or revenue assurance)
  • Strong on revenue recognition, gross-to-net, working-capital cycles, and credit-risk assessment
  • Hands-on with distributor reconciliation and marketplace / quick-commerce settlement, returns/ RTO, and platform deductions
  • Sharp on Excel and modelling; comfortable digging through large transaction-level data
  • High ownership — you'll chase a collection, recover a wrong deduction, and tighten a leaky process without being asked
  • You move fast, like a bit of chaos, and want to own the full revenue story rather than a slice of it
