We are seeking a Revenue & Project Accounting Manager to oversee the revenue operations, billing, contract accounting, and project financial oversight. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely costumer invoicing, revenue recognition, contract compliance, billing efficiency, and seamless integration with Workday Professional Services Automation (PSA). The position partners closely with Sales, Sales Ops, Legal, Project Management, FP&A, and Corporate Accounting to ensure financial accuracy, operational scalability and GAAP compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end revenue operations, including contract review, billing, revenue recognition, and collections oversight.
  • Ensure revenue recognition complies with U.S. GAAP (ASC 606), including proper allocation of performance obligations.
  • Oversee customer billing processes, including T&M, milestone, fixed-fee, and subscription-based invoicing.
  • Manage contract setup and financial configuration within Workday PSA to ensure accurate project tracking and revenue treatment.
  • Partner with Legal and Sales Ops to review customer contracts and assess revenue impact.
  • Ensure accurate project setup, including cost rates, billing rates, revenue schedules, and project budgets.
  • Monitor project financial performance, including revenue, costs, margins, and percent-complete tracking.
  • Oversee deferred revenue, unbilled revenue, and contract asset/liability reconciliations.
  • Improve billing accuracy and cycle times, reducing manual processes and optimizing automation within Workday.
  • Establish and enforce revenue cutoff procedures and internal controls.
  • Support monthly revenue reporting and provide variance analysis to FP&A and leadership.
  • Manage revenue-related audit requests and maintain documentation supporting accounting positions.
  • Lead and develop revenue and project accounting staff, ensuring high-quality review and oversight.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • CPA or equivalent professional certification preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with strong focus on revenue accounting and project-based environments.
  • Experience working with or supporting US-based companies required.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, including ASC 606 revenue recognition principles.
  • Experience with contract accounting, billing operations, and project financial management.
  • Direct experience with Workday Financials and Workday PSA (Professional Services Automation) is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of T&M, fixed-fee, milestone, and subscription billing models.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis); PowerPoint is a plus.
  • Proven ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, multinational environment with strong cross-functional communication skills
